Hello there! I’m Christian, a Big Sur-based photographer. I specialize exclusively in proposals for the Big Sur and Carmel areas.

I moved to the area after getting my B.S. in Biology from Fresno State in 2021. I absolutely love everything about the outdoors which makes the Monterey Bay area the perfect place for a photographer to call home. From the beautiful beaches of Pacific Grove, to the forests deep in the heart of Big Sur, there’s always a location that suits the mood.

I never planned to become a photographer until I moved to the coast and just wanted to take pictures of all the beautiful scenery and the people enjoying it.

I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit and followed it to build my own business. I became a father in early 2023, which was the spark I needed to take on more clients and fill my free time with photography. I started with headshots and family portraits but quickly transitioned to proposals, and elopements.

The Small Details

I absolutely love coffee and will make it a point to try out every shop in a new town I visit. None of that boring stuff either, I want the weirdest espresso or pourover you can find me.  My go-to is almost always a super bright fruity Ethiopian single-origin. A couple recommendations would be Andytown Coffee Roasters in San Francisco and 11th Hour in Santa Cruz.

Anyone wanna go ocean kayaking?! Its super fun, and a little scary but that’s part of the adventure. I mean, with a wetsuit on and a radio, what could go wrong?

I also truly enjoy gardening and have always had one that is way too large and usually gets out of hand. I tell myself each year that I’ll make it smaller and more manageable, but it never seems to work. Why grow one type of pepper whe you can try twelve, you know?

My favorite things to watch on TV are always multi-season, long drawn out dramas. I prefer long character arcs that let me get to know the people and become truly invested in their stories. Some of my favorites are The Wire, Sons of Anarchy, Dexter, Game of Thrones (ignoring the last season).
